_Kubo Punko cartoon 09/01/04
My good friend Aaron's cartoon Kubo Punko is now up live on Cartoon Monsoon battling to get a series with other crappy cartoons on the WB website. Go check out the cartoon which is about a group of skateboarders that transform into super hero type characters and stomp out the evil in the world and save the day. Then after you watch Kubo Punko vote highly on the cartoon so Kubo Punko prevails and stomps out the evil shitty cartoons in the world.
_Hosoi sighting down at Channel St. 08/01/04
Yup, heard right. Aug. 1st. I was down at the park skating with Ron Chatman, George Watanabe, Bill and others. I'm looking at this guy and thinking to myself, that guy over there looks a lot like Christian Hosoi. He comes up on the volcano where I'm waiting to take another run, I tell him...You look a lot like Hosoi...are you his double? He's like no man, I am Christian Hosoi. Oh so you are...right on! Welcome to our skatepark I tell him... and good to see you out of jail and at our skatepark. He rolled around a little bit, but was saying his knee was hurt. Oh well it was rad just to see "Holmes" down under the freeway. I just thought I'd share that with you all.
_A Muska Rainbow 07/25/04
So I went to see the band Battles at the Roxy Saturday night. Before my friends and I go into the club we go to the Rainbow room to get a drink for the hell of it. We're out on the patio area smoking and having drinks checking out the Hollywood who's who parade, I look over and there is the Muska at the entry way with his dad perhaps? He had sunglasses on at night even...rad. But whatever that night was all about the Battles Who by the way is one band that will not disappoint you.

_Dicks take control of San Pedro 07/11/04
The Boulder Dicks are having there second art show tonight in San Pedro to benefit the Channel Street Skatepark. I think we will be serving beverages to thirsty souls and selling shirts as well. That's right second(the first was about 8 years ago in Andy Harris' house). The show will feature the fine artwork of Chris Sessions, Andy Harris, Dan George(is homebrew art?),Michael Burnett, Ssippi, Elvis, Chris Coyle(?), Ultimate Phil, Tyler Adair. Dan Gilsdorf, Eric Magnussen, Some other Dudes, and maybe myself if I can get off this damn couch. We are sensitive men (Stole this from Keith's myspace posting)
Jaguars and Butterflies Gallery
Yeah so I think I'll make it down there soon and at the same time check out the progress on Channel St. Yesterday the bowl section was poured and I heard from sources today that there was like 50 people there trying to session. We've created a monster! I told you Beardo.
Review to come.
_Thanks Sanger from Crailtap 06/29/04
I usually go on to crailtap.com and check out what they have to say about this time of the day which is around 4pm or time for a smoke break. Well today at my dismay I was on the Sanger Sings section and low and behold there is Hater Skater listed under Sites to visit today: That's really nice of you to notice what's going on here. Oh yeah and by the way... a lot more in store to come shortly. Promise.
Tonight @ The Echo DKT / MC5 are playing. So popular up here in the Echo Park area, everyone wants to look like someone from that era...so I'm going and shall report back with a fashion report, maybe tell you about the music too...Damn when will I get to design this stupid ass website anyhow. Fuck it...you can wait.
_Hollywood Subtleties premiere 06/21/04
The show was a laugh riot being that it was all ages brought out the kiddies in groves. The bands that played were kroq inspired "pop punk", good looking boy bands singing about teenage love and romance while the clones slam danced or as they said "moshed". It was quite silly...and the skate movie they showed was geared to the kiddies that practice kick flips all day long on carpet. Pat Duffy's part was the only salvation in Subtleties, what kind of gay ass name is that anyhow. It was like romper room.
By the time 400 Blows came on most of the parents came and got their kids and the place was pretty cleared out. The Blows did rock though and the remaining kids got an earful. Glad they got paid well thank to Transworld, man that magazine really BLOWS! Joy.
_Pink Motel has no vacancies
Saturday 19th, 2004 Sunset Sessions No.1
Well now it's actually 1:39am and it's June 20th. Whatever the fuck... I made it home from the Pink Motel all in once piece and police free. As I was pulling away from the parking spot I had around the corner from the party I seen a cop car coming towards me on San Fernando Rd. and they slowed down, turned around, turned off their lights and pulled into the lot of the Pink Motel. That was a sign that the party was about to be over.
But it was pretty much too late... It was past 11pm and that's when it was supposed to originally end. Not before some real shredding went down there. In that pool that's a bit wide, some funky spots, a front wall with super mellow trannies and stupid spray painting all over the walls. Jake ripped, Pee Wee destroyed it, Cooksie ripped, Jimmy the Greek did some ripping, Aaron Murray ripped, some 13 year old kid from Texas killed nearly everybody else.
There was some "famous" skateboard types there, legends, former pros, dudes that just buy clothes to look like they skate, old washed up dudes holding those long board skates, young kick flipping non transition riders, guys trying the same trick over and over without pulling a simple trick that Eddie Reategui can even do still.
While some nameless band played in the background, begging the people that were standing poolside watching the skateboard action to pay attention the the music they were playing. Believe me none of the bands I heard were worth the damn anyhow, well shit okay they put forth the effort, how can you compete with people skating a pool? Should of gotten JFA to play the show and make it a fucking real skate party.
All in all I'd say it was a good time. Every bit worth watching 4 guys dropping in the pool at the same time and crisscrossing their lines, 1 out of 4 would complete the run. Good times. Skateboarding is alive on the most part and seems like transition riding has made a comeback.
The shittiest part was the beer running out, although smoking some cowboy cigarettes with random people was a good mind change as well. I'm just glad I made it back home without saying hello to a friendly police man.
